Gooey Monsters

So working on a card for my niece I came across a dingbat font that had monsters as the letters.  I found this guy and started manipulating it to be the right size and getting the layers to show up the right way.  I think found another font for the Boo! and used that along with Arial as the black letters.

Simple as that.....

Halloween Cards

Halloween!  My most favorite holiday of the year, Dia de Los Muertos being the second favorite.  So I had started out thinking that I would make a card for my niece since she hasn't been doing all that great with her treatment but it turned out to be so much more.  I started with the cut files that I got when I found some freebies on Letter Delights website.  From there I spent way too much time trying to figure out the right size so that it would cut and not rip the paper or better yet not cut at all.

The first photo is of the card that I am sending niece, the second was supposed to go to my other niece but I decided to keep it and make her something else.  The last one I used a cut from the baby cards that I made and then adding a spider ontop of the onsies.  I may send this card to her, it's not like she will take notice anyway since Paige is 2, not exactly an age that is known for them remembering things.

Baby Time!

As you can see I have been in a baby making card mood.  I had this idea and it ran off and became something much  larger than I had thought it would be.  So what was the idea that had me in a fight?  Clothes pins, mini clothes pins.  I saw these mini clothes pin at the scrapbook conventiton that I went to this summer.  I saw them and immediately knew that I had to get them and make a card with them.  This card is probably going to require special postage but I think it is well worth the money.

Texas........Big Sky Country Stationary Set

I think out of all my cards that I have recently posted this one is a favorite.  Living in Texas you find out that people are Texas bred and Texas proud.  This card is part a set of cards that I made for a stantionary set.  I have 11 cards and one box that I am going to decorate using some paint and some other things.

I have a few other states that I am going to try my hand at but if they don't work out the stanionary kit will be a Texas set of cards.

To make this I had to sort through a dingbat font and then I used my Silly to cut the shape in red, white and blue and then adding a star.  It actually isn't a hard project it just takes some time to make sure that you get the cuts correct since you don't want the flag to be incorrect which it can be if you don't pay attention.

So what I did was cut out red, white and blue texas shapes from there I used a ruler and craft knife to cut up the shapes.  From there I mounted everything to the white background and then added a star in the blue section as there is supposed to be.  I had a hard time trying to decide if I wanted the star to but shaped like the state or if I wanted it to look as it does above.  I picked option B and I must say it looks pretty darn awesome!

Now to move onto the box to put thsese in.

Hexagonal Peacock Woman

Here is one of my cards using the Mica paints that I have fallen in love with.  The paper is from a stack I got at Hobby Lobby and the stamp is from Stampland, from the stamp convention.  I first cut out the hexagons, which I got from my library on the Silly then I stamped the woman on it after laying out the hexagons.  From thiere I just painted over the stamped woman and let it dry.  I was going to emboss it but at the time I didn't have any baby wipes to clean the stamp with.  I have them now and I just haven had the chance to do the stamping again.

Merry and Bright

Here is the first Christmas card of the season for me.  I have loved this stamp so much that I am simply itching to paint it with different colors.

Vampire Snow White

As you can see I've made Snow White look like a vampire.  I thought it was a perfect mood setter for this Halloween.  Instead of an apple I put a bat although I could have used the apple but I decided not to.  I backed this card with some Martha Stewart Halloween paper which was tombstones.

I'm getting better with the lettering delight cuts and using my Silly.  Now if I could just figure out how to use SVG cuts on my machine.  I think it may be a buy the software either way just one was is different than the other.  Just not sure what to think on a whole about that.

I do so love Snow White....and her face was white as snow.

Halloween Kyoto Kutie #2

This is the second version of my Kyoto Kutie that I did for Halloween.  I used my Silly of course to do all the cutting for me, but I found this nice background image in my massive amount of cuts that I have for my Silly.  The inside is basic though since the front is so involved.  As you can see I put a spider web on the bun this time, I think it looks cool but I could see it looking like a hair net as well.....

Here's the inside of the card.

I just loved the paper that I used on the first card that I used it on the second card as another background and as the kimono for the Kutie to wear.  Now what to make on a rainy Saturday afternoon while football is on?

Kyoto Kuties

Before

So I have recently become obessed with the web sites Under a Cherry Tree and Lettering Delights.  On there I have found many a cutie files that are so not me.  Anyway, this is one of the products of said websites.  Kyoto Kuties was a free down load from Under a Cherry Tree and I couldn't help but to make one of them before moving on to personalizing thing buggers....they will so not be the Kuties that they started out to be.

After

I made this a Halloween based Kutie, I wanted to use a different paper in the background but I thought the bat main section limited my choices.  I know next time to use something else and also use spiderweb in the hair.

Get Well Soon Princess

So here's the card that I made my other niece since she hasn't been feeling all that well lately so I thought I would send her a card along with her sister's so that she would get a smile out of it.  It's another princess this time Tiana, had to look that one up since I couldn't remember it off the top of my head.  I do remember Madelyn wearing this same outfit in one of the photos from Disney.

I promised Madelyn a card with pink and purple, I wasn't too sucessful on the purple but I got the pink and I know she'll like the princess.

Cut from Lettering Delights, font from dafont.com.

Happy Birthday Paige!

What is there to say about this cute little, okay not so little card that I made for my niece for her birthday?  Not much besides, isn't it cute?!  I picked this little princess up at Lettering Delights, and got a whole collection of Princesses which I can now play with, I must say that Snow White was by far my favorite.  So I went with that for a birthday card front.  She had an apple in which she was holding but I changed that to a number 2 instead since it is a her 2nd birthday.  I got the font of course from dafont.com fitting for a Disney themed birthday card.  Now to make another one for the other niece, can't have one get something without the other.  Who to make, who to make?

It will be late but it was made with lots and lots of lub (love)  Happy Birthday Paige!

Witches Brew Halloween Card

It's the most wonderful time of the year, now most would think that it is winter and Christmas but I would have to disagree with them.  Fall is the most wonderful time of the year, it's that time of the year where summer has ended and College Footbal begins and Halloween time is here!  Two of my most favorite things in the world.

Now with that statement being shared I made this card with the thought of a shop store front on Diagon Alley in the Harry Potter books, I think I did a pretty good job but there are some thing I think I might change if I try this card again.  Overall an awesome Halloween card.

Now off to make a birthday card for Paige.

Dancing to say Hello Card

I made this card fror my Gram and I thought it was pretty neat how it turned out.  Must better than planned that is for sure.  I've used my new technique of running cut through the Xyron and then putting glitter on aftewards.

Jeez!  I'm kind of hungry....

Thanks Dress Silhouette Card

So as you can notice I am on a roll with this "genre" of card making for the time being.  There is just something about the image that makes you want to make a bunch of cards with it.  This of course used the Silly and I got these quick sayings on circles on clearance so I used one of those on this card.  I challenged myself to use a Graphic 45 paper with this card and I think I did pretty well considering a dress doesn't go with much unless it's something dealing with fashion.

It's the Small Things Steampunk Card

So I had this template that I wanted to use, as you can tell by the other postings, and I was too lazy to hand cut it out of card stock so instead I imported to the Silly and then cut it from there.  Anyhoo here is my ode to Steampunk, the famous wings on a dress form.  I had some stickers hanging around and the one that I found that seemed right for this card is the saying "it's all about the Little Things".

So I cut out the image with black card stock and then dry embossed the top half and then colored it in so that it popped out at you.  I used some of Hambly Studio paper, still sad they are no longer in business, for the skirt and then used a teal diamond pattern paper as the background and cut out yellow wings to coordinate together with everything else on the card.

Birthday Dress Card

I must said I am most proud of this card for the moment since it took a lot of work to create the dress on the outside.  I had to break out the Silly for the dress outside then I had to use my most hated item that I have...glitter, and then I used cake doilies to make up the bottom half of the dress.  The paper on the front is flocked so it pulls in nicely all the different textures that are in play in this card.  The inside I made a big effort to use another piece of the paper from the outside but also use the color of the glitter into the inside of the card.  From there I just picked a font and a quote and printed it out on the printer.  Oh!  And cover up the top of the last doily I used a piece of silver ribbon.  I plan on making a couple of these, maybe just in smaller sizes, the big one was nice but I can do more with a smaller image.

Keep you Chin up Birthday Card

I made this card intending on giving it to a good friend at work, but for some reason I just couldn't part with this card.  Maybe it is the fact that Young Sir is the dog in the photo but I just couldn't part with it.  So instead I made him a different card, which I so totally didn't take a photo of, however I managed that, and kept this one.

I evem managed to do this whole card without the help of a machine.  Well the printer but that doesn't count since it was used to print the picture out with.

Steampunk or bust, baby!

Ta-da-da-da-da-daaaaaa!
I'm so proud of this one.  I've never very good with the altered art area of stuff but I think I did a pretty bang up job of things on this card.

On this card I used the Sily to cut sone gears, okay a lot of gears and then I dry embossed clocks on the background paper then I used G45 Steampunk Debutaunte paper for the large image in the back.  I used my Thanks stamps, I'm leaning the secrets, and heat embossed Thanks at the bottom.  I added the gears by using brads and covered with white paper to write on.

Ta-Da!  Not too tough but time consuming, but it was for a good cause.  Karen rocks!

Big Play Date......

So I have been on a card making jag, a first for me for sure since you know how long it takes me to make just one.  I guess that Stamp Convention did a world of good, since now I am card/notecard making machine.  Just give me a challenge.....okay maybe not that good but I'm almost feeling that good about what I'm making.  Here is a card and two notecards, the butterflies are the card and the other two are notecards to say thanks to the great team over at Target Pharmacy.....Maybe I should make a Target themed card for the rest of the group.  I made one for each Pharmacist and Karen *waves HI*, her's is featured in another posting.  Of course.  Not!  But it is in another posting since it was what started the revolution along with the Stamp Convention.

Jules told me there is one in Jan, now I can't wait for that one to come.  That and the new CHA stuff that will be shipping soon.  Yay!  For G45 latest paper lines!  Among other things.

Let me cut this quick, or I'll be rambling on forever and I have more posts to do.

For the butterfly card (left) I heat embossed and then used my memento's markers and colored it in with constrasting colors.  Turned out nice I think it did.  Then I did it like a science project......No. and the Oder or whatever.  Mounted it and went from there.  I of course had to use a font on it, so I spent time doing that....and people think this is easy.  Pfsth!  Color, ribbon or to not ribbon.....the whole nine.

For the first (center) thank you notecard I used nothing but the circut on it, the rest was had cut and done, except for the "Thank You" that came from M's.  Brads from the Scrapper's Convention and a little bit of silver goes a long way.  And of course to ribbon or thread or not ribbon or thread.

The second notecard (right) I went with a Steampunk sort of feel.  Feeling able, I cut a strip of paper from from G45 paper I had called Le Cirque, so I went with it.  Got come cardstock from M's for the background. Used the strip as the sides and then used my ever trusty hats that I seem to be getting a lot of use out of now.  This was just the last one I used the stamps on that I got from the con.  Added wings and some gears cut from the Silly and ta-da!  Thank you notecard.  I finally got smart about the words on the back and typed it out so they could actually read my horrid handwrtiting.  Not been the best since after the seizure but it takes some time to get that working at 100% again.

That is all for these, next!  Steampunk!

Passing of youth Quote

This one card took two days to make and a sleeepless night to finish off.  I cut out gears from my Sillhouette, the paper is Basic Grey and the butterfly was something that I bought at the Scrapbook con so it was just a matter of putt things together on that one.  The rest was of course color cooooord-it-nate the papers.

Ethinic Birthday Card

So I made this card with the thought of playing with the "new" used items I got at a garage sale the "local" Girl Scouts of America was having for scrapbook fools.  Me being one of them of course, but this time I got the mother figure to go with me to it.  I was a driveby in all actuallity but you know how that goes.  I know the earlier you get there the better selection of items.   I think I found a good load of things, so there is bound to more posting of cards as I continue to make more and more cards with the stuff I got.  Now........on to the dies I got.

90 Years of time......Birthday Card

I made this card for my Gram who turns 90, yoday!  1922 to 2012, who would have thought back then that they would make it this far in life?  I can only hope that I can be that age and still be as snappy as she is.  So Happy Birthday Gram and Harry Birthday to the US, a great place for freedome even if some don't think that.

This card was made using a layer system that I got from the GASC a few weeks back and had been unable to figureout how best to use the two cameos that from the pack along with some other smiliar things to match the style I had going on.  Now if only I could get going on the many other cards that I have to make, but instead I am sitting here loaing cards and cleaning out the clost to put the bug in it's final resting place, at least that is the hope after all.

Just saw Graphic's new line and I must say I MUST OWN this stack and all that comes with it.  Wonder of amazon had pro-orders for it?  Song Bird!  There are peacocks, need we say more?

Belated Birthday Card

I made this card my sister as a belated birthday card.  With the week I had at work, I didn't have enough energy to make her a card before her birthday.  So here it is the day of her birthday and the card is now sitting on my craft area desk and not in her mail box as it should have been.

Sorry A, know that I didn't forget just got caught up.

I tried some new techniques on this card, I used my Sew Easy which makes it look like you used a sewing machine.  I have a small sewing machine but I'm not sure if I need it or not.  It was cheap so it's not a total loss if keep it for some reason or another.

I hope you like it!

Donut Know how Much to Thank You Notecard

I made this card for one of the System Accounts Management group, since they do so much for me.  They probably get little appreciation from the university but I wanted to take a minute and thank them each personaly for all the work they have done for not only me but for the university as a whole.  They keep us ticking whether or not people want admit it or not.

India's Bridal Gown

Here is my latest Bridal related card.  This time it is a Sari (Saree, depending on you) along with some Arabic that says "Bride" as least according to the computer.  A reliable source, no?  Anyway, this was a tough one because there aren't a lot of pictures of Saris out there that I could work with.  I finally did find a photo/drawing that I was able to use and tweak to make it work for me.  The original version didn't have the flowing back piece (in pink) but that is the way that some of the Indian women I know wear their sari's "scarf" for lack of a better word.  I blinged it up a bit with some gems that I got at M's to replace the squares that came out of the translation cut.  I used an embossing folder to give the pink paper the gauzy looking I was attempting to get on it, I think it turned out okay but I had wished I had some fabric to try and make it look more realistic.  Maybe on the next one I will try and find some scrap of fabric to try and use it on the pattern that I have made for this particular piece.

On the inside it says:  "The perfect wedding dress fits you like your love fits your mate; Perfect in everyway.  Congratulations

The quote is my own, and while putting the card together I came up with a couple of sayings I could use on cards but those will have to wait since it is time for.......GASC (Great American Scrapbook Convention)!!!!  Money will be thrown around and new goodies will be gotten and more cards will be made.

Cheers!

Untraditional Bride

I've always dreamed like most small girls of the perfect wedding, sadly mine never consisted of bubble gun pink dresses and white flowing dresses, no mine always consisted of the bolder colors, Royal Purple, Red Pepper Red or my personal favorite Brandywine-Red Wine color.  So this is my nod to my dress, one that is still alive and kicking just slight a bit more realistic on items that I thought would be a "must have" the different color dress is still a "must have" though and that will never change.

Now I have watched the show Say Yes to the Dress from time-to-time and most of the dresses they pick out seem to suit their style and always making sure to check off traditional dress for traditional wedding.  Me, I have never seen a show where someone comes in looking for something simply smashing in red, purple or Brandywine for a wedding dress and not the bride's maids.

They'll be having more in this genre of card since I have none made and since being sick I have been unable to work on cards as much as I would like to.  This one took two days but that was with breaks and such.

Enjoy it!  I know I do!

Manly Jar of Thanks

Here is yet another Thank You Notecard for the S.A.M.s group.  They are so busy, it's a wonder that they manage to get lunch or even have time to breath.  This is for one of the guys, one of two, of the group.  I thought blue and thanks done in as many languages as I could get the computer to work was simple yet says just how much I appreciate it them.

Thank you Clay and the S.A.M.s groups!

Happy Birthday Sis from Another Mother!

Need I say more?

Steampunk Birthday Greeting Card for Him

I made this card from Dr. A, I loved this card as well.  The gears and the feathers were a great combination in my book.

Many, Many, Many Thanks Notecard

Many, many, many thanks go out Maureen, who was kind enough to find me a Disney Villians set of pins for my lanyard.  I have sine begun to wear them and just simply love them!  I was in the hopsital at the time, so it was a huge and nice surprised to get something from her.  So I made this notrecard as thanks.  The butterflies have many printed in different fants and I then just lover layed the wing color so you can see what the butterflies say.  I had a bigger plan but it wasn't working out the way that I wanted it to, so I stuck wiht this, which I think is just fine.

She loved it anyway, so I guess I did good work.  ;)

A Meaty Birthday Card

Oh jeez!  I never posted this?!  How can this be?  This is by far one of my favorite cards ever.  I plan to make another one, it was just that good.  I simply fell in love with the idea and so I ran with it.

Mixed media is used, I have foam, ribbon and of course paper.  I thought it was awesome all the same.

Happy Birthday Maureen's husband!
