Administrative Professional Day

One more thing to add to the busy month of card making I had, Administrative Professional Day! I wasn't able to get the 4 that I had hoped to get, but I did manage two.

I got to use one of my new carts on one of them. Damask Decor, which by the way I'm loving. I can't wait to use it more. And I probably will soon enough since Mother's Day is just right around the corner. With a late Easter it's hard to believe that Mother's Day is May 8th. I have three cards to make for the women of the family. Gram, A and Ma...now to get started on those.

Grandma's Card

So here is the card I made for my niece that would be from my mom, Madelyn's Grandma. I just thought the theme of the card was great and it turned out well too!

Yet another reason to create!

So yet another birthday has come up, this time around my niece's! She's the big 7 years old today. She seems stuck on Hello Kitty so I made her a card of that theme. Nothing too complex but I just love the way that it turned out. One of my better birthday cards. I got the CB's Happy Birthday embossing folder from a "surplus warehouse", they are calling themselves along with more refills for my Create-A-Sticker machine. All gifts but all very well received, and right on time since it seems we are entering the birthday season now. Anyway, I made two cards for my niece, one from me and one from her grandma. I think both turned out great. I'm getting better with my "machine".

A steal of a deal

So last night as I was waiting for some prescriptions to be ready. It's a wonder how people allow Walgreen's to take up an hour of their time...it can't be that busy at 8 o'clock at night. Anyway, that is neither here nor there. So we (my sister and I) were trying to kill some time and we went to the local M's. Now I usually don't find a ton of stuff there since the store is smaller but I hit the jackpot last night! The new cartridges that I had been drooling over where there and the best part? They were on sale for much, much lower than what I had seen them listed on ebay and such. They were on sale for 39.99! The cheapest I had seen them was 54.99, so I was quite hype and then if you bought three you can get one free from Cricut.com. So I'm all over that, it's not really free since you have to pay 9 dollars for shipping but even then a super cool cart for 9 bucks, can't beat that. So that is my steal of a deal......now to go and play with them. Everyday pop-up and demask decor here I come!

Birthday Month

So it seems that yet another birthday has come upon me. I had debated long and hard on this one, but in the end I didn't feel quite right only making cards for certain people. In the end I could see that coming back to bite me on the butt.

So here is the next card that I made. I wasn't too sure what the person's fav thing is, so I went with the idea of Asian art or something zen like since she does yoga. Given enough time I could have come up with a good thing about yoga, but this was last minute. Now what's the next birthday? Hmmmm, oh! My own!

Yet another birthday card and other random things

Evening, evening. I have just completed a card for one of the docs at work. He's a nice old guy so I figured I could make him a card for his 83rd birthday. He loves tennis so I went with that theme and this is what I came up with. So on top of the card that I made I hit the local J's for some exclusive DCWV stacks. I got lucky and got two out of the fives stacks they had released for J's only. I just couldn't pass up the chance to have a stack with peacock things on it. Then I got the Lemon flowers stack since that had awesome color combos.

It's someone birthday!

I would just like to say that my best friend's birthday is today! Exciting, but sadly she isn't here in town to celebrate. Instead she went to visit her sister, niece and mother to celebrate the day. Happy Birthday Julie!

One of a Kind

Well it's the weekend and I made it. It was a tough week both at work and at home. On Wednesday one of my kids (Young Sir the dog in my profile photo) managed to do damage to himself. Since he is a Japanese Chin they have a tendency to have their eyes pop out of their sockets. Well, it seems that Sir did something to himself and managed to have his eye pop out, and no it doesn't hang down or anything. Just sort of bulges out of the spot where it sits. So I had to take him to the vet the next morning to see what they could do for him, they did surgery and managed to pop it back in but boy was it a rough night and day. He has been wearing a cone on his head, to which he wasn't happy about. That dog is just one of a kind. I've taken a photo of the after effects and I plan to make a card with it. "Ruff day?" and he looks very much like he got into a fight and lost. the eye was sown shut to heal and with a cone on his head, it looked a fright. My weekend will consist of making cards, making sure someone stays out of trouble and getting rid of some things that have been hanging around the house for too long. It's a Citywide cleanup, and I plan to take full advantage of it. Tomorrow is a special day....it's my best friend's birthday! She's out of town but birthday wishes are of course going to given all day tomorrow. This was a totally random posting but I just had to post how crazy that boy is that I call Young Sir. Oh and if we thought that this would slow him down on his counter hopping, sadly I was mistaken. Came home today and stuff on the counter was on the floor again. Crazy boy!

And then there was one....

Congrats UCONN Men's Basketball Team!!! It was a tough game, but they huskies pulled through. Wow that was a nail bitter the whole game. I know most could care less about it, but this marks the end of college sports for me. I do football and basketball, now I have to wait until the fall for something worth watching. Anyway, I slacked off tonight but tomorrow will see me back to work. I have plenty of cards to make and little time to do it in. Wish me luck, I'm going to need it.

April Arrives!

April arrives and with it many important dates. First is of cours April Fools, there is then of course March Madness aka Final Four. Go VCU Rams! Go UCONN! Then there is my best friend's birthday (April 9th), then there is tax day (April 18th, and yes that is correct), then there is this thing called birthday for someone....ME!, then there is Earth Day (April 22nd) which is also Good Friday and then there is Easter and that doesn't even complete the month for me. Then there is my oldest niece's birthday (April 28th) and then next thing you know the end of the month. How's that for busy? And oh! My sister and her two daughters (A& Co) are coming for a visit starting on the 15th, they'll be here for me birthday. And a big birthday it is! I'll be 29-the sequel, okay, okay I'll own up to it. I'll be 30 this year, and to top it off I can't believe it is already April. It seems like just yesterday it was January or even December and I was busy fighting off the cold weather. Although living in Texas gives you an advantage of not having to deal with snow much. So enough rambling...today I went to a new store, or more like new to me. Stamp Asylum, it's in Plano, Texas and I must say that I was impressed with the selection of stamps that they had. I managed to purchase something, that hadn't been the plan but I thought I got a deal on what I got. I got some of Tim Holtz's new stamps out. I got a single stamp with a corset on it, and for some reason I just love corsets and I'm not sure why, while the other was the Haberdashery cling set. I was amazed that I even found it there since I was certain that I was going to have to order it online. I got lucky I think. I'll of course have to make a couple cards with the stamps but I'm never too sure on if I can do some of the things that I would like for using the stamps. I don't think there is a 'wrong' way per say to use stamps but I always feel as if there is. Any way, my good friend from work, usually called the better half of me birthday was March 29th, so I made her a card to which the whole office got to signing and then went missing. I am going to guess that it made it's way back to her but I'm not sure since I wasn't at work yesterday. So the Scrapper's Boutique had extended the deadline for the Design Team but upon further reflection I realized that I really just wasn't ready for that yet. I don't do layouts for scrapbooks so it made it harder for me. So instead I'm going to attempt to go to a few classes and learn some new techniques for my card making. Oh! There is a new cart coming out called Everyday Pop-ups and I'm just itching to get it. I've been considering on if I want to pre-order it or not but I have a feeling I will kick myself if I don't get it. Actually March's releases were good ones each one I could see using, mostly. I don't want the graduation or the Father's Day ones but the others look neat. Well I'll end there and maybe wonder into the craft room and attempt a card.
